My Top 6 Go To Girly Movies

It's Saturday! For me that means the husband is out of the house and it's time to get some house work done and relax from a busy work week. One of my favorite things to do it watch a girly movie. While my husband doesn't usually mind if I want to watch a certain movie. He sometimes has to be in the right mood to watch a girly movie with me. If we do, I better be ready for the smart *** remarks and him making fun of the goofy grin I get on my face during certain moments (I'll admit it!).  ANYWAY -- So I prefer to watch them when I have alone time. Plus, we have shows and things we want to watch together anyway.

I have compiled a list of my top 5 top 6 girly movies. To make this list I need to have watched the movie a whole lot! Too many times to count! If you haven't seen any of these I suggest you watch them at least once.

1) Ever After
As a little girl Cinderella was my FAVORITE Disney movie. My mom would tell me stories about how I had to watch it every morning over and over again. Well... Cinderella is still my favorite Disney movie, but I don't watch the animated version anymore (the VHS is probably in my parents basement somewhere). The movie Ever After is the closest thing to a Cinderella story if she was a real person -- without getting into the musical version. I love this movie and I have seen it way to many times to count or admit!

When I was younger my mom was the first person to introduce me to Jane Austen and the many BBC version of her work. Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in the BBC mini-series is one of my all time favorites, but who has time to watch a 3 hour movie frequently?! This 2005 Hollywood adaptation is great in its own right. How did they make Matthew Macfadyn so dreamy? I don't really find him attractive outside this movie. Keira Knightly does a great job fulfilling the audiences expectations of Elisabeth Bennet and the whole family is exactly what I had pictured when reading the book.

I first saw this movie on a date night with my husband -- back before he was my husband. I have always like Rachel McAdams and apparently my husband has too! lol If I remember correctly the skirt scene in the trailer is what got him to agree to see this movie in the theater in the first place. Oh AND... Jeff Goldberg and an appearance from Ty Burrell (aka Phil Dumphy). Aside from that -- the whole cast of this movie is spot on! My love for Diana Keaton and the contrast of Harrison Ford as a grumpy co-host is extremely entertaining in this "girl power" movie. This movie is a Sunday brunch staple!

In high school I was part of choir all four years. I have always wanted to be a great singer but I guess my "Pitch wasn't Perfect" (Sorry! Bad Joke). ANYWAY, if you have not been living under a rock you have seen this movie and know how AMAZING and funny it is. My husband was "Pitch Perfect" in high school (Sorry Again!) and he appreciated this movie as well. I think we played it every night before bed for a few months (We fall asleep to the TV most nights). After so many viewings it's still one of my go to movies. I can't wait to see if Pitch Perfect 2 lives up to the first one!

Every little girl wants to be a princess -- I know I do did! Much like the rags to riches story, Mia is an awkward normal teenager who finds out she's royal. Who doesn't love a good makeover/transformation movie! I don't care if I'm technically to old to still like this movie -- I'm still going to watch it over and over again!

This movie is just one of a kind! Basically, Penelope (Christina Ricci) has to find someone to loves her for who she really is when she comes across Johnny (James McAvoy). This movie has a great message with an air of fairy tale and fantasy for the modern girl.

I hope you enjoyed my girly movie list! In the comment section down below tell me what your go to girly movies are or if you have seen any of the ones listed here!
