A good song can be just as impactful as a good book. In that spirit, I often hear a song that perfectly captures a moment from a book I might be reading. While reading Autumn Rising by Seth King I heard a few songs that I thought spoke to parts of the book. However, this playlist wasn't as easy for me to construct like my soundtrack for Honesty was. When I got all the songs together I felt like I didn't have a good representation of Autumn's personality and the songs didn't flow cohesively. So to better fit my music taste to the story, I decided to focus on Hank's perspective when selecting songs for this soundtrack. Hope you enjoy the movie in my head through these songs!
***Spoilers Ahead!***
Hank's Autumn Rising Soundtrack

3. You and I - Johnnyswim

4. On and On - The Score

7. Lover Come Back - City and Colour

8. Cold Cold Cold - Cage The Elephant
Hank's world is dark and cold without Autumn.
9. The Emotion - BORNS

Hank isn't letting Autumns diagnoses be the end. Nothing else matters, they are going to be together. He's not going to let anything get between them again!
13. Light Up - Mutemath
(Credits roll on the movie of Autumn Rising in my mind!)

I know the order of these songs might not follow the books events exactly, but I think it does a good job of highlighting some of Hank's more vulnerable moments.
I hope you enjoyed this list of songs! Let me know what song(s) you would have on your Autumn Rising soundtrack in the comment section down below!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Fall Together" by The Temper Trap. You might know how much I love the song "Trembling Hands" by the same band... Well, when I heard their latest single I knew I would have to feature it as well! I love the dreamy haunting quality of the music but I think this song has an uplifting message. The chorus is powerful and makes you feel hopeful about the future. I already have plans to include the song in a book review coming very soon, but I thought this song was too good not to share it with you as a #MusicMonday. Enjoy!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "The Wolves" by JJ and The Pillars. I stumbled upon this song on Spotify and I just had to share it. I have a lot going on this week and this high energy song is perfect to start off my Monday. Enjoy!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Synesthesia" by Andrew McMahon.I have been wanting to post this song for a while. I just never got around to scheduling it. As someone who has a mild from of synesthesia, ordinal linguistic personification, I was drawn to the title of this song. However, it's just honestly a great song about love! It's one of those songs that makes you want to smile and dance around like a fool because it just makes you happy.
There's more to life than singing songs we write when we are in the shadow of the moon
About a day ago I finished the book Honesty by Seth King and I posted my thoughts on the book here. After publishing the post, I found myself at the gym running on the treadmill with Cole Furman still in head -- his voice still ringing in my ears. I put my head phones on, turned up the volume and pushed play on my recent unpolished playlist. This playlist of random songs was made months ago but I hadn't gotten sick of the songs yet so at this point it's my go-to. Then something happened... every song was about Cole and Nick. I ran along listening to song after song trying to distance myself from the voice in my head and the words I had just read -- it was no use. Each song brought on a memory from the book like I was watching the movie of Honesty in my mind -- you know, if it was out of order and blurry like a day dream.
I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling a little obsessed and crazy at this point. (I know you're thinking it!) How could this random playlist on shuffle speak to me this way? Well it did... and my mind will not rest until I've crafted the perfect Honesty soundtrack. So here are the songs to the movie in my head! For best results listen in order.
**sorry for any spoilers**

Am I watching farm land go by on a cloudy day? Whatever your driving landscape, I hope you enjoy this playlist! My best guess is that this mix was made sometime around 2011.

Also, if you're wondering about the title I gave this mix "I Would Do Anything For You so Keep The Car Running"... Let me just say that I name my mixes by mashing a few song titles together. It's something I've done since my high school days so that I can better remember which songs are on the CD. Enjoy!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Pity Party" by Melanie Martinez. I decided to pick this song as this weeks Music Monday because today is my birthday. While this song isn't exactly a HAPPY birthday song -- I thought it was fitting!! I was also able to find a remix of this song I really liked by K Theory. Click here to check it out! I might even like the remix more then the original.

This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Girls Your Age" by Transviolet. When I first came across this song I had to immediately add it to a playlist. The song starts slow and picks up a bit at the end, this would be a good song for a "mood" mix. More importantly it's been stuck in my head and I can't help but sing along! Actually, I woke up the other day singing it and I figured that was a good sign that it should be shared here with you. Enjoy!
Welcome to the first #MusicMonday and a long time! In the spirit of new beginnings and the New Year this #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Sound of Change" by Dirty Heads. This is a upbeat song and has a really great message to keep you hopeful when your feeling down. Enjoy!

Into the night, we are high; never mind,
And through the clouds, we arrive, like the skies in strike,
And as we dance on the stones, glass beneath our feet,
After some time off from blogging I would like to jump back into this #MusicMonday with a song that I can't get out of my head. This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Jealous (I ain't with it)" by Chromeo.
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Gold" by Sir Sly. I have heard this song being played in a few different places, so I thought I would share it. I really like the feel of this song and while the lyrics are somewhat repetitive (not in a bad way) they have a haunting quality with the message of following your dreams. The music video is also interesting to watch. I did not feel the video took anything away from my initial impression of the song. Take a listen and let me know what you think in the comment section down below!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Ripetide" by Vance Joy. I have liked this song for a little while but had never watched the music video. Take a listen and let me know what you think in the comment section down below!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "After the Disco" by Broken Bells. Naturally Monday's are one of the most dreaded days of the week... the weekend is over and it is time to get back to work. Before I jump into my workday music sometimes I like to start off the morning with a little mood music. I'm still not fully wake, my coffee hasn't kicked in and I'm reflecting on the weekend. This song is great in many ways, but today I'm mourning the long weekend -- "after the disco". Take a listen and let me know what you think in the comment section down below!
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Something Good Can Work" by Two Door Cinema Club. After a relaxing vacation I had to jump back into working this Monday. As you might know, getting back in the mindset is not always the easiest thing to do after time off. This song definitely gets me in the mood to focus and make things happen! Take a listen and let me know in the comment section down below what your favorite workday motivation song is?!
Let's make this happen, girl
You gotta show the world that something good can work
This #MusicMonday I'm featuring the song "Time" by Fé. I first heard this London based band on the podcast The Sound in My Head. While they may not be main stream, this songs caught my attention.
